Seafoam Dreams invites you to stroll along the shores of a distant world. This standalone AR app offers an art walk experience on Toronto Islands, developed in collaboration with the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition to foster a deeper connection with the ocean.
At its core, Seafoam Dreams intertwines themes of technology, art, and nature, focusing on Toronto Islands as a pivotal location. We carefully considered the island's relationship with water, its visitor dynamics, and activities. We crafted a narrative arc with three key components: linking perspectives on the ocean with climate awareness, connecting users with Indigenous culture, and fostering a sense of belonging within the web of life.
The app features two main sections: the immersive art walk and the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition hub. Throughout, users can engage the camera function to scan AR artworks seamlessly. A priority for us was creating an intuitive map for easy navigation, ensuring accessibility throughout the experience.
