ViVi is an app designed for the fictional universe of a future sci-fi television series. In this world, it’s a popular app that provides the service of sharing lives. Users can exchange a week in each other's lives, experiencing life exactly as the host does. Named after the Latin word for “to live,” ViVi embodies the motto: “you live when you share.”

While the app's primary function was predetermined, we were tasked with refining all the details and features. We changed the name, experimented with colors, and got creative with iconography, aiming to blend science fiction and technology with human nature and biology.

We conducted interviews to gather public opinion, engaged in body-storming to envision scenarios, and studied precedents from other sharing apps to understand how they build trust and safety among users. By examining the tools and features that best reassured users, we integrated those insights into ViVi.

One crucial feature was the categories page, which allowed users to search for lives of a particular variety, encompassing five categories: Knowledge, Perspective, Excitement, Travel, and People. Each category was represented by a unique line art icon of a bodily sense or limb. This use of familiar human traits helped invite users in and reassured them of the human connection at the heart of the app.
